Eden Prairie, MN – August 24, 2016 – Nanostone Water, Inc., a membrane solutions company with a unique portfolio of ceramic and polymeric membranes for water treatment and industrial process fluids, today announced it has received NSF/ANSI Standard 61 certification for its ceramic ultrafiltration (UF) membrane module. With this certification, issued by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), represents Nanostone’s commitment to ensuring drinking water safety. A copy of the certification can be located on the UL manufacturer’s directory for NSF/ANSI Standard 61. The NSF/ANSI Standard 61 certified ceramic UF membrane is a revolutionary high surface area pressurized monolith style module which greatly improves the efficiency of permeate flow by providing a low resistance conduit for passage to the outside of the membrane element. This patented design uses multiple rows of channels in a flat sheet segment and incorporates multiple segments in a pressure vessel similar to those used with polymeric hollow fiber membranes. Together with the improved efficiency, the high surface area and the revolutionary segmented construction drastically reduces the cost making the systems using Nanostone’s ceramic UF module competitive with systems using polymeric hollow fiber UF/MF modules.
