David Metcalfe

David Metcalfe

David joined Nanostone Water in 2019 and has responsibility for technical business development and direction of regulatory, piloting, and full-scale water treatment activities in the UK.

Prior to joining Nanostone, he gained broad experience in water supply during a 20-year career with U.K utility, South West Water (part of Pennon Group Plc.), with specialisms in water quality, regulatory/public health, innovation, and water treatment process optimization. During this employment, David undertook an undergraduate and postgraduate degree and became a Chartered Scientist.

David led assessments of innovative technologies including 7 years of successful pilot scale research centered around ceramic membrane processes (linked to an MSc by Research with Cranfield University), and subsequently acted as a technical expert in the full-scale design, build, and commissioning of the first large scale ceramic membrane plant for municipal drinking water in the U.K – Mayflower Water Treatment Works (90 MLD).”
